Places to Visit in Tirupati

Tirupati, in Chittoor District of Andhra Pradesh, is situated at the foot of the Tirumala Hills. It is an ancient town associated with the Vaishnava preceptor, Sri Ramanuja. He founded Govindaraja Swamy Temple in 1130 AD and started a small settlement around it and named it Tirupati. Several new shrines like Kodandarama Swamy temple, Narasimha Swamy shrine and Kapileswara Swamy temple were also built in different parts of Tirupati.

Sri Govindaraja Swami Temple

The temple is located near the Tirupati railway station. The deity, Sri Govindaraja is in a reclining pose. There are shrines of Sri Andal, Sri Parthasarathi and Sri Venkateswara in the Temple.

Sri Kodandaramaswami Temple

The Temple was built to commemorate the visit of Sri Rama, Lakshmana and Sita to Tirupati while returning from Lanka. According to inscriptions, the temple was built Narasimha Mudalyar in A.D.1480.

Sri Kapileswaraswamy Temple

This Shrine for Lord Siva is located about three kilometres from the Tirupati railway station. Kapila Maharshi installed the Sivalinga here, thus, the deity is called Kapileswara.

Alamelumangapuram (Tiruchanur)

Tiruchanur, also known as Alamelumangapuram, located about 5 kms from tirupati is also an ancient holy place. The Temple of Sri Padmavathi Devi, the consort of Lord Venkateswara is situated here.

Srinivasa Mangapuram (Tiruchanur)

It is a small village, to the west of Tirupati. Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy Temple is located south-east of this village. Legends say that Lord Venkateswara after his marriage with Padmavathi Devi stayed here.

Narayanavanam

Narayanavanam is a small town about 22 kilometres South East of Tirupati. A shrine dedicated to Kalyana Venkateswara is located here. Puranas and legend claim that Lord Venkateswara married Padmavathi Devi here.

Srikalahasti Temple

Srikalahasti Temple is a holy place near Tirupati in the Indian State of Andhra Pradesh. It is located on the banks of the River Swarnamukhi, a tributary of the River Pennar. This temple's main idol is the Vayu (air) Linga.

Kanipakam Temple

Kanipakam Vinayaka Temple or Sri Varasidhi Vinayaka Swamy Temple is a Hindu temple of Ganesha. It is located in Kanipakam in Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh, India. This historic temple is in Kanipaakam in Irala Mandal, Chittoor District.

Golden Temple

Sripuram, the Golden Temple was built in a short span of 7 years. It was inaugurated on August 24, 2007. The consecration ceremony was witnessed by thousands of devotees. Since then, the temple has attracted hundreds of thousands of devotees.

Good accommodation with good amenities at a prominent location. good restaurant with professional staff. This was one of the best hotels i had visited in the city. The service and hospitality is amazing. Liked the hotel for its comfortable room size, (not cramped) large size restroom
with a shower panel. Nice hotel to stay with family.
So have not much verified the facilities available.
